Marc Jacobs’ is a proud New Yorker and from time to time, he often experiences nostalgia for decades past. This season, Jacobs’ took cues from the 80s hip-hop street scene. But the 80s references – the kangols, the medallion chains, and the warm up suits – carried heavy doses of 70s fabrics, colors and weight.

The results were some of the lushest pieces for fall 2017 – shearling coats, shift frocks, corduroy trousers built for function than fit as seen on model Kendall Jenner. It was a riveting show, with each look offering a styling idea with which to take away.
